Academic Use
Esri software is available for use in teaching and research in any discipline at higher education institutions of all sizes.
All academic licenses include the core components of the ArcGIS Platform – ArcGIS Desktop (ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap) and extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise and extensions, and ArcGIS Online (GIS Professional user type) – as well as Esri CityEngine and Premium apps (Business Analyst, Community Analyst, GeoPlanner, Insights).

Administrative Use
Esri software is available for use in managing the facilities and operations of an educational institution and other activities that are not directly related to teaching or academic research, such as facilities management, planning, accessibility analysis, routing, campus safety, asset mapping…
Products are available individually or in bundles that include the core components of the ArcGIS Platform – ArcGIS Desktop and extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise and extensions, and ArcGIS Online – as well as Esri CityEngine, and Premium apps (Business Analyst, Community Analyst, GeoPlanner, Insights).

Licenses for Students
Students who wish to install Esri software on their personal computers may be able to access or purchase one-year licenses of ArcGIS Desktop.
Student Edition One Year Term
Only available at institutions with an Institutional License. Consult the map above to see if Student Edition licenses are available at your institution.
ArcGIS for Student Use
For individual, non-commercial personal use. The license includes ArcGIS for Desktop (ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap) and extensions, and ArcGIS Online for a low annual fee.
