Overview
Esri Canada, in partnership with the University of Toronto, held the 5th biennial GIS in Education and Research Conference at Hart House on March 1, 2023. The conference featured research paper presentations from higher education and hands-on workshops run by Esri Canada staff, with a keynote presentation from Dr. Trisalyn Nelson, Professor, Department Chair, and Jack and Laura Dangermond Chair of Geography at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB).
The 6th biennial GIS in Education and Research Conference will be held in the Fall of 2025. Please check back here for updates.

Why Attend?
This low-cost conference offers opportunities for GIS educators/researchers and student researchers in Canada to come together, share experiences, and learn from each other in an organized forum. Its goals are to:
Provide educators with an opportunity to interact and network with other members of the GIS education community.
Provide students with an opportunity to learn by attending hands-on workshops, sharing new ideas, and collaborating with researchers and their peers on new initiatives.
Build a stronger Canadian GIS education and research community.
