Academic Use
Esri software is available for use in teaching and research in any discipline at higher education institutions of all sizes.
All academic licenses include the core components of the ArcGIS system – ArcGIS Pro and extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise and extensions, and ArcGIS Online (GIS Professional user type) – as well as ArcGIS CityEngine and Premium apps (ArcGIS Business Analyst Web and Mobile apps, ArcGIS Insights, ArcGIS Notebooks, and ArcGIS Urban).

Administrative Use
Esri software is available for use in managing the facilities and operations of an educational institution and other activities that are not directly related to teaching or academic research, such as facilities management, planning, accessibility analysis, routing, campus safety, asset mapping…
Administrative use licenses include the core components of the ArcGIS system – ArcGIS Pro and extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise and extensions, and ArcGIS Online – as well as ArcGIS CityEngine, and Premium apps (ArcGIS Business Analyst Web and Mobile apps, ArcGIS Insights, and ArcGIS Notebooks).

Licenses for Students
Students who wish to install Esri software on their personal computers may be able to access licenses through their institution or purchase one-year licenses.
Named User Licenses
Institutions with any education license may provide students with access to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS apps, and ArcGIS Pro through Named User accounts. Consult the map above to see if your institution has a license.
ArcGIS for Student Use
For individual, non-commercial personal use. The license includes ArcGIS Pro and extensions, ArcGIS Online and several Premium apps for a low annual fee.
